In 2018, investments in digital health hit a new high, totaling almost $8.1 billion. Based on current trends, the market is expected to reach $120 billion by 2025. Leave no doubt, there is a healthcare investment wave that is growing and growing fast. Fortunately, there are several Pittsburgh-based and nearby organizations that are surfing it. Pittsburgh, already known as a healthcare leader, is doubling down by continuing to invest in cutting-edge science and technologies like immunotherapy. Just last year, a $200 million commitment was made to create a center that focuses on advancing the science of cancer care, transplantation, and aging-related diseases. Several other incubators, accelerators, and national organizations are investing more time and money to create innovative healthcare applications, software, and products that will ultimately impact not just patients, but investment analysts, principals, and partners. This panel will address and analyze the recent VC trends, changes, and advances in the healthcare landscape and what the future holds.
