Chris Hoppe joined the University of Pittsburgh as Executive Associate Athletic Director for Sport Administration and Student-Athlete Support Services in June of 2017 following a six-year tenure at Eastern Michigan University. At Pitt, Hoppe has taken a leadership role over all areas that directly impact the student-athlete experience of Pitt’s 475 student-athletes. This includes day to day management of the Men’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball Programs, Pitt Sport Administrator Team, NCAA Compliance and Academic Support areas, Sports Medicine Program and UPMC relationship, Strength and Nutrition Programs, Equipment Office and the John and Cathy Pelusi Life Skills Program. Hoppe also maintains oversight of key relationships with the Pitt campus in Housing Services, Student Conduct, Title IX, the Office of the General Counsel and Pitt Police, as well as Directing the Athletic Department’s new collaboration on Human Performance Opportunities with the Pitt Innovation Institute and Provost’s Office.
